Pharmaceutical sciences is relatively young science however it has progressed rapidly during last three decades. In fact advances in Biological sciences coupled with technology and understanding of diseases and their etiology boosted the progress in pharmaceutical sciences.

Pharmaceuticals manufacturing sector in India is one of the biggest in the world pharmaceuticals manufactured in India are exported to almost all over the world and hence India is considered as the “Pharmacy of the world”. Competent pharmacy graduates and postgraduates are needed all the while to cater to the needs of pharmaceutical industry in India. Moreover skilled pharmacy professionals are required in great numbers to serve the health care sector as hospital pharmacists, Clinical pharmacists,drug information scientists,clinical research associates, Pharmacovigilence officers for rational drugs use in both India and aboard. In addition pharmacy professionals with sound knowledge and excellent skills are required in pharmaceutical regulatory and research and development department
